Most Livable City
Posted at 2007/08/24 15:05// Posted in go canucks goLONDON— Vancouver has been selected as the world's most “livable city” and Toronto the fifth most livable in a survey of 132 cities by the Economist magazine.The Economist Intelligence Unit says Vancouver was chosen number-one due to a low crime rate, little threat from instability or terrorismand a highly developed transport and communications infrastructure. Vancouver scored a livability index of 1.3 per cent, with zero per cent indicating exceptional and 100 per cent indicating intolerable. It's the fifth straight time Vancouver has garnered the honour.
The list published on the Economist.com website shows four Australian cities — Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney — in the top 10, which also included Vienna, Copenhagen, Geneva and Zurich. The magazine says traffic and crime rates caused such cities as New York, Tokyo, London, Hong Kong and Paris to score lower. Large centres like London and New York also lost marks by fears of terror attacks. Algiers was the least livable city on the list.
view the sourse / Economist's ranking별 일 없으면 일위는 뺏기지 않기 때문에 그냥 또 그러려니,하지 가끔 심각하게 궁금해지기도 해 그래 살기좋은 도시인 건 충분히 알겠는데 과연 '세계 일위'를 할만큼 살기가 좋은가 나는 기사대로 과연 세계에서 가장 살기좋게 살고 있을까 그래도 몇 주 전쯤에는 진지하게 내 운명에 고마워했다 떠나고싶지 않은 도시에서 떠나지 않고있는 것 세계에서 가장 살기좋은 도시의 참 목좋은 곳에 비와 바람을 피할만큼보다 더 좋은 집을 구해 사는 것 입고싶은 것 입고 하고싶은 것 하면서 남 신경 안쓰고 살 수 있는 것 순간의 새로운 긴장과 흥분에 잊지않고 반응하는 것 이렇게 지금의 나를 만들어 준 이 모든 것들이 너무 신기해서 아무튼 나 이런 곳에 살고있어 종종 손이 떨릴 정도로 절실히 감사하면서
