최소한 캐나다에선 모르는 사람이 없는 데이비드 스즈키를 나는 무척 존경했기에, 그가 이끄는 환경보호 단체인 데이비드 스즈키 재단의 정기 후원자가 되었다. 열렬히 사랑했고 지금도 무척이나 그리워하는 그곳이 내가 기억하는 아름다운 모습 그대로 오래오래 남아있기를 바라는 마음에서, 그리고 녹아내리는 빙하 위에서 북극의 곰들이 울부짖는 일이 앞으로는 없기를 기도하는 마음에서.
